Lyrical Analysis of...
Murder In the Streets (Sweet Relief)
- When i was younger never led a good life,
- didnt matter to me what was wrong or right,
- always runnin my mouth and startin a fight,
- Now I see it clearly/got my true sight,
- seein in color no more black and white,
- was feelin dim and it changed to really bright,
- Slight miscalculation of judgement inside,
- never felt like this until i almost died.
- Doctors said they didnt know how i defied,
- the preacher man told that me i should take pride,
- and that there's a reason for me being alive.
- CHORUS:
- My moms always told me, dont spark any beef,
- dont want my son to be a murder in the streets.
- Tell her i wont bring her that grief/then she smiles like she feels sweet relief.
- Deceived her only wish how was i so naive,
- Brief moments where they said i never breathed,
- so lucky not to be a murder in the streets.
