ok new to rap pad so this my first rap
basically to start off I never been in the trap
I was raised in San Antonio with my family
had my dad and my mom to comfort me
now I'm not gonna lie I hated Hip-hop
hated all the rappers and the shit they dropped
but then one day I had enough
so I started writing, just to show my stuff
I had a black and white composition
wrote how I would kill the competition
I said to myself this ain't half bad
but I made my first mistake when I showed my dad
"Son what's this bullshit your writing about
how yo rhymes so hot you causing droughts
betta clear this rap shit from out yo head
and live this in your dreams and go to bed"
Damn, how could he be so cruel
I was only fourteen, I wasn't acting a fool
I made a promise on that fateful day
that I was gonna be a rapper and get paid
so I studied the greats from Slick Rick to Kane
Boogie Down, Rakim and N.W.A
My flow got better, as I practiced
read dictionaries forwards and backwards
learned how to rhyme in multisyllabic time
I was doing fine, with mad shine and no word of crime
but then I had an epiphany in my living room
I was watching boondocks until the music went boom
it was during the scene when Huey fought Bushido Brown
The rappers vocals was so profound
who was this MC who slaughtered words like Nas
The beat was very jazzy but sort of odd
I looked online to find the source
and on Wikipedia I found a Force
called Madvillain and the song All CAPS
why the hell was this not considered mainstream rap
Madlib conducted beats like a scientist
and MF DOOM was a character, I couldn't resist
they told stories, made visions, seduced women
straight pimpin, So villain, they was living
This is it I said, I knew my destiny
I wanted to rip Mics and become a MC
Like DOOM and QUAS, with my lyrical knowledge
sending fools to school with no money for college
so from that day I been writing my legacy
with my pen and pad, good luck in forgetting me
spelling out greatness now, as I type this excellent
and that's my story and I came to represent
I AM HERE
