It's like history's moving backwards
we're back to the first chapter
the only difference now is that they don't tell us that they our masters
They think of us as nothing but gangsters and wack rappers
forget about the black actors or the stars on the raptors
They think we good for nothing, and no one will care if we die
Out of every 100 deaths they probably cover 5
on the news, black youth shot and abused,
no crime committed but the officer still acquitted
maybe if the officer was of color he'd be convicted
The system governed by a black person is still twisted
Sandra Bland, May she rest in piece,
now the black folk scared they can't get job in one piece
This ain't skyrim, you might catch a bullet to the knee
if you get caught with as little as a gram or two of tree
They say the darker the berry the sweeter it's juice
but this country doesn't want fresh fruit
they happy with vegetables, lacking the testicles
to accept that they ain't the only ones who slowly walk the earth
since when was it wrong for a mother to give birth
to a child of color with nappy hair and black eyes, for what it's worth,
I don't see a problem, whether you're from Scotland or Somalia
whether your name is Maryam or Monica
